Reminder: Class of 1960 fund + Jan. 28 meeting info

Dear BCF colleagues,

We’re writing to remind you that the deadline to apply to the Class of 1960 Adjunct Faculty Research Fund, for a research grant of $10,000, is just a week away. Applications, which go through the college’s Grants Committee, are due Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 5pm EST. Adjuncts who have taught three or more years at Barnard may apply. You can learn more about the fund and download the application here. Applications should go to Bobby O’Rourke (rorourke@barnard.edu) in the Provost’s Office.

A note of clarification: The Class of 1960 fund is completely separate from the Adjunct Professional Development Fund (a provision of our union contract, open to adjuncts who have taught four or more semesters at Barnard). If eligible, you can definitely apply to both (and we encourage it!) We accept applications to the Professional Development Fund on a rolling basis.

Also, a reminder that our monthly general meeting will take place next Thursday, Jan. 28, at 5pm EST on Zoom. All BCF unit members are welcome. Please RSVP here if you plan to attend. Here is our (loose) agenda, and you’ll find a meeting link in your inboxes:

  • Introductions
  • BCF and Local 2110 updates
  • Feedback on Class of 1960 fund application process
  • Open discussion/questionst

We look forward to seeing you. As always, if you can’t make it to a meeting or prefer to talk one-on-one, please don’t hesitate to contact us with any union-related questions or concerns.

In solidarity,

Siobhan and Todd
